Q: What are the different types of homecare?
A: Licensed home care provides skilled nursing and therapeutic services (physical therapy, occupational therapy) by individuals with advanced degrees under the supervision of your physician. A skilled agency is also licensed by the State Health department.

Non-medical / caregiver home care provides non-skilled personnel (aides, companions, homemakers) for personal care, companionship, safety, transportation, errands and other tasks, including emotional support. These agencies usually are licensed by the department of social services and require all care givers to be registered with the state of California. We are a full service licensed agency offering both skilled and non-medical services.

Q: What is the difference with a license by the state or a general business license?
A: An agency that is licensed by the Department of Public Health must adhere to stringent standards/guidelines of care and are subject to an annual State inspection. An agency with a standard business license has no standards of care or regulations to govern the care they provide.

Give your loved one the care he or she deserves by calling Heart of Humanity Inc. today at (415) 898-4278.

We stress the importance of a positive relationship with our employees. They are our most valuable asset.

Q: Why should I hire an agency instead of a private caregiver?
A: Our agency handles all payroll requirements, including state and federal taxes, social security, disability and workers compensation insurance. We are insured and bonded. We are available 24/7 for emergency staffing or scheduling changes. A RN is available 24/7 for any medical issues or needs that may arise. If you hire privately you are responsible for reporting wages to the IRS, withholding taxes, liability insurance, screening, training, staffing and emergency on-call.
